Eligibility Requirements

The CSTE Applied Epidemiology Fellowship is designed for recent master’s or doctoral graduates in epidemiology or a related field who are interested in public health practice at the state, local, territorial, and/or tribal levels. The fellowship provides rigorous competency-based training while also being flexible to meet the interests of the fellows.

Fellowship applicants are required to meet all the following criteria if you are a recent graduate or current graduate student:

Current Student

Qualifying degree completed within the last five (5) years

Completing the final year of their academic program and graduating within the current academic school year.

(i.e., The Class 21 application cycle is open to December 2022 through August 2023 graduates).

Candidates must have their epidemiology or a related qualifying degree and/or coursework completed at an institution accredited by the Council of Education for Public Health (CEPH). Please visit the CEPH website for more information about accredited programs.

Completing the final year of their academic program and graduating within the current academic school year.

(i.e., The Class 21 application cycle is open to December 2022 through August 2023 graduates).

At least four graduate-level epidemiology courses and one graduate-level biostatistics course. These courses can be completed and/or in progress.

Desire to pursue a long-term career at a state, territorial, local, or tribal health department.

Proof of United States Citizenship or United States permanent resident status.

Demonstrated analytical skills.
